How Long Does Paver Sealer Last in Florida?

Paver sealer normally lasts between 12 and 24 months in Florida.

Where in that range your pavers end up depends on three things:

• The pavers themselves

• How much you drive on them

• The weather

A driveway that takes cars every day wears faster than a pool deck or a garden walkway. Strong sun and heavy rain wear the coat down too.

How to tell the sealer has worn off

Look at your pavers after rain or after the sprinklers have run. On sealed pavers, water beads up and sits on top. If the water soaks straight in and the pavers turn dark, the sealer is worn off and it is time to reseal.

Does old sealer have to be stripped first?

Sometimes. That is hard to tell from photos. It needs an expert assessment on site, so we check it when we inspect the pavers before the job.

When can I drive on a freshly sealed driveway?

48 hours after sealing.

Will sealing stop the weeds?

A lot fewer weeds will grow between your pavers after they are re-sanded and sealed, but it will not stop them completely.

How we seal pavers

Every job follows the same steps: we inspect the pavers, kill the mold and algae, pressure wash, re-sand the joints, seal with two coats and walk the finished job with you.
